Shutout statements landed in bunches. West Springfield blanked South County 11-0, Ocean Lakes handled Kempsville 8-0, PatriotHS dismissed Osbourn Park 10-0, Western Albemarle rolled past Charlottesville 12-0, and Southampton dominated Surry County 16-0.
Elsewhere, bats did damage. Rappahannock topped Northumberland 14-6; Auburn overpowered Fort Chiswell 17-2; Lightridge beat Freedom (South Riding) 10-1; Broadway handled East Rockingham 9-1; Loudoun County and Hayfield posted matching 8-2 wins over Gainesville and Edison; Fluvanna County bested Orange County 7-3; George Wythe defeated Giles 8-4; and Matoaca took care of Prince George 4-1.
