Virginia High School Softball Daily Update — May 12, 2026
Close calls and commanding wins shaped Tuesday’s Virginia high school softball slate. Mountain View powered past Riverbend, 10-2, while Ocean Lakes edged Kellam, 4-3. Hickory contained Great Bridge, 3-1. Abingdon rolled over Lee, 13-1, and Loudoun County blanked Broad Run, 4-0.
Elsewhere, Buffalo Gap beat Alleghany, 5-2; McLean outlasted Wakefield, 9-7; and Floyd County nipped James River (Buchanan), 6-5. BattlefieldHS slipped past Woodgrove, 5-4. Eastside shut out Twin Springs, 6-0, and Poquoson handled Gloucester, 13-3. Menchville topped Bethel, 14-3, and Osbourn Park defeated Independence, 10-7.
Closing out the slate, William Byrd beat Franklin County, 4-2; Sherando defeated Liberty (Bealeton), 10-5; and Millbrook outpaced James Wood, 10-8. MidlothianHS downed Powhatan, 9-1; Broadway blanked Spotswood, 4-0; and Louisa County edged Western Albemarle, 3-2. Deep Creek overpowered Nansemond River, 11-3; Rustburg beat Jefferson Forest, 5-2; and Christiansburg got past Pulaski County, 6-4.
