Defense and nerves ruled the night in a trio of nail-biters. Great Bridge edged Grassfield 3-2, MidlothianHS eked out a 1-0 decision over Cosby, and Kellam slipped past Cox 3-2. Menchville added another shutout to the ledger, blanking Bethel 2-0.
Elsewhere, several teams flexed with decisive victories. Loudoun County handled Broad Run 8-3, while Millbrook doubled up Sherando 10-5. Western Albemarle rolled past Fluvanna County 13-5, and Turner Ashby poured it on against East Rockingham 17-5.
In other standout results, Lebanon controlled Richlands 6-1, Rappahannock shut down Westmoreland 8-0, and Windsor cruised by Surry County 12-1.
