Virginia High School Softball Daily Update: May 20, 2026
Tight finishes headlined the slate as Rappahannock edged Lancaster 3-2, Menchville slipped past Kecoughtan 5-4, and Jamestown clipped New Kent 3-2. Matoaca added a clean 2-0 shutout of Godwin to round out the low-scoring grinders.
Several teams won with authority. Southampton rolled past Windsor 11-1, Stuarts Draft handled Buffalo Gap 8-2, and Hayfield powered through Edison 16-5. Poquoson was equally convincing, blanking Smithfield 7-0.
In a high-octane capper, Honaker outlasted Chilhowie 13-11, while MidlothianHS took care of Clover Hill 7-3. A strong mix of nail-biters and statement wins defined the day across Virginia.
