Power arms and tight margins headlined across the Commonwealth. Southampton silenced Windsor 3-0, Strasburg clipped Turner Ashby 2-0, and Pulaski County blanked Cave Spring 5-0. Yorktown edged Langley 2-1, Gainesville handled Colgan 4-2, and Mountain View slipped past WoodbridgeHS 3-2. Sherando controlled Millbrook 7-2 to cap a steady slate of statement wins.
One-run tension defined several tilts: Jefferson Forest outlasted Amherst County 7-6; Rustburg topped Brookville 4-3; Hayfield nipped South County 8-7; and Edison edged Robinson 6-5.
The bats boomed elsewhere. Abingdon routed Hidden Valley 16-0, Poquoson overwhelmed Central (Lunenburg) 15-0, Nottoway cruised past Arcadia 11-1, and West Springfield powered by West Potomac 12-1. King William added a composed 5-2 victory over Randolph‐Henry.
