Top Five (03-21-25)

It’s already been a big week for regular season softball. Two of last week’s leaders–RIVERSIDE and SOUTH LAKES– suffered their first loss. However, it’s a long season, and both teams played talented competition in LANGLEY and MCLEAN. With that being said, here are your top five for this week:

CLASS 6

OSBOURN PARK – No surprise. Last year’s Class 6 state champions prove they they belong at the top of the stack with solid wins over talented teams, included perenial power house COLGAN.

MADISON – Again no surprise. Madison proves once again to be another contender for 2025.

WESTERN BRANCH – Finding a familiar spot in the top five with dominant wins in its first two games.

CENTREVILLE – It’s early to tell, but a couple of solid wins and still an undefeated season.

HERNDON – Emerges as the early Liberty District leader. Welcome to the top five, Herndon!

CLASS 5

HICKORY – The VHSL leader as of week one. 10+ run differentials in their first three games. Not bad….

BETHEL – Two wins against WARWICK propelled BETHEL in to the early top five.

DEEP CREEK – Two strong performances in the early season have earned DEEP CREEK a spot in the top five.

GODWIN – MILLS GODWIN run-ruled their first two games, assuring them a week one top-five ranking.

KELLAM – No surprise here. Beach district leader KELLAM is in the running in the first week!
