This week was the clash of the titans. The best of the districts faced each other to shakeup the overall VHSL 6 state rankings. First, Battlefield and Osbourn Park battled it out over nine innings to determine the Cedar Run front runner. Congrats to Battlefield, who is now ranked fourth in VA Prep rankings. The Liberty district leaders McLean and Langley went in to extra innings, ultimately with McLean the winner– but Langley still remains in the top ten. Hayfield and Edison fought a close one, with Edison making a late run. But Hayfield ultimately won and is now in the the top ten for the state. Southeastern district leaders Grassfield and Western Branch had a close game with Grassfield coming out the victor. Lake Braddock can’t lose: they remain the number one based on their 14-0 record.
